Good communication strategies are so important, especially in regards to supporting adherence. Good use of tables and figures to support subject matter discussed. Good use of key points at the end of each chapter. I like the use of the question and answer format this textbook used. Very good coverage of the significant issues with diabetes and its management and care (both physical and relational). Great resource (and study) for every nurse because every nurse will encounter a diabetic (and/or be one). To be better informed means better patient care outcomes. I felt it was a thorough text and covered the subject extremely well."

Although I am familiar with diabetes, I still learned several key points in the text and the quiz helped to highlight important information. My suggestion would be to let the reader know the text does contain small print as at times it proved to be challenging to read—but that’s from me, old eyes with 36 years as a nurse."
